A lie travels a thousand miles before the truth can get its pants on
(Middle Eastern proverb)

Quote of the Weak:

Charles Grassley (R-IA): "You know, what--what makes our economy grow is energy.  And, and Americans are used to going to the gas tank (sic), and when they put that hose in their, uh, tank, and when I do it, I wanna get gas out of it.  And when I turn the light switch on, I want the lights to go on, and I don't want somebody to tell me I gotta change my way of living to satisfy them. Because this is America, and this is something we've worked our way into, and the American people are entitled to it, and if we're going improve (sic) our standard of living, you have to consume more energy." At its April meeting The Bucks County Green Party voted unanimously to give its full support to the candidacy of John Murphy for 16th United States Congressional district, which includes Chester and Lancaster counties, and part of Berks. Eight voting members were present at the meeting.
John has made a long time commitment to Green values, and has the ability to make a significant impact on the election in Pennsylvania in November. John will be a strong advocate for all of the issues we care most about: universal health care, energy independence, an immediate end to the Iraq war, and a living wage for all Americans.
We appreciate John’s high moral and ethical values, his sincere commitment to service, and his willingness to fight for what he believes in. If he were a resident of Bucks County we would have been pleased to unanimously endorse him and place his name on our ballot.

3/6/2006 Future American lawyers to be proud of.

Alberto Gonzales spoke before law students at Georgetown Law School today, justifying illegal, unauthorized surveilance of US citizens, but during the course of his speech the students in class did something pretty ballsy and brave. They got up from their seats and turned their backs to him.

To make matters worse for Gonzales, additional students came into the room, wearing black cowls and carrying a simple banner, written on a sheet.
